Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank spoke out in a press conference this afternoon, saying, "I do not choose to run for Congress in 2012."
He said that last year, around the time of the signing of the financial reform bill, he tentatively decided he was going to make this his last term. Also factoring into his decision was redistricting in his state. He said that initially he was planning to run again, but that his district has undergone many changes and that there are around 325,000 new people, many that he has never represented before.
He also stated, "There are other things I would like to do in my life before my career is over."
