Killing cops is socially conscious!

"[President Obama] has spoken out - very strongly against - as an elected official, as an American and as a father against those kinds of lyrics and he opposes them. But he does not think that is the sum total of this particular artist's work, which has been recognized by a lot of mainstream organizations and fair and balanced organizations like Fox News - which described his music as 'very positive.'"
It's a bit awkward hearing Carney categorize news channels by their marketing slogans or derisive nicknames (depending on one's point of view) with non-Fox News outlets as "mainstream" and Fox News as the "fair and balanced organization." Yet it's also enjoyable hearing Carney serve up a new quote that will likely upset Sean Hannity again. Carney concluded Common is "known as a socially conscious hip-hop artist or rapper who has done a lot of good things." Whether such a statement like that will quiet conservative critics doesn't seem likely.
