Larry Summers: Portrayal in Social Network Accurate
March 9, 2011
Of course it was. Doug did it.

From The Daily Mail:
The only inaccurate thing, according to Summers, is the part where his character asks his assistant to 'punch me in the face' apparently to check whether he is actually having the meeting with the Winklevosses.

'I surely did not tell anyone to punch me in the face,' Summers said.

Even so, he said that the twins now claim, 'Larry Summers wasn’t nearly as nice to us as is portrayed in the movie.'

However at the luncheon Colleen Richards Powell, who used to work for Summers on student affairs issues at Harvard and was privy to the meeting with the twins, said he had been nicer to them.

'I can honestly say he was not that arrogant,' Powell said of Summers. 'He didn’t give them what they wanted, which was to legally penalise Mark Zuckerberg...He was not mean to them.'
