Panetta said at a Senate hearing Wednesday that in the event of the capture of bin Laden or another top Al Qaeda figure, Ayman Al Zawahiri, they would probably be taken initially to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan and on to Guantanamo Bay. The comment drew attention because President Barack Obama is still publicly committed to closing the war-on-terror prison at Guantanamo. No new prisoner has been sent there since Obama took office.
